Shortly thereafter, we will be hosting an event at Watkins Glen International on Monday, October 29 and Tuesday, October 30. This is one of the best tracks in the country, with over 3.5 miles of challenging sweepers, fast straights, and some dramatic elevation changes. Drivers can sign up for one or both days.... we look forward to seeing you at "The Glen!"

Lastly, our Lime Rock Park event is filling up fast. We will close out our season at Lime Rock Park on November 2. Please note that the Novice Run Group is currently sold out, but we do have limited spaces in the other run groups. Looking ahead, we are hosting an event at New Hampshire International Speedway on Saturday September 22 and Sunday September 23. Drivers may sign up for one or both days. This event is filling up fast, so if either or both dates work for your schedule, please print the application and drop in the mail! We will round out the NHIS portion of our season on October 19 -- there are limited spaces for this event as well.

One event coming this fall that cannot be missed is our October 29 and October 30 Watkins Glen International track days. This road course is 3.5 miles in length and features fast sweepers and dramatic elevation changes. If you were not able to join us at Watkins Glen last May, then mark October 29 and October 30 on your calendars.  Thank you for the continued support and see you at the track!

This exciting road course, about an hour north of Boston provides challenging corners and some dramatic elevation changes. August finds us even busier, with a return to NHIS on Thursday, August 16, with a return to Lime Rock Park on Monday, August 20. We are returning to Lime Rock Park this Friday and Saturday for two more days of high performance driving. This event is sold out. The schedule for the event can be found here. The SCDA would like to recognize a few of our Instructors for their strong showing at Lime Rock Park. On May 19, SCDA Instructors Rob Driscoll, Jeff Henderson, Dave Maynard, Mark Gregory and Jeff Harding put on a driving display that was thrilling to watch. Lap after lap the group would dice for positions and battle until the checker finally flew. The BMW Team cars for the www.autotechnic.net boys are immaculate, and their BMW's look like they belong in a museum. Equally professionally prepared, Jeff Harding's www.flatout-motorsports.com prepped RX7 was at the front all day long. Keeping Harding on his toes was SCDA Instructor and ITS frontrunner www.3dautoworks.com team driver Dave Maynard, and SCDA Instructor Mark Gregory. Here is a photo of some of the action, with Harding and Discoll battling, and eventual race winner Jeff "Hollywood" Henderson sneaking through. A job well done by all! For this coming weekend, the SCDA is well represented at Lime Rock Park. SCDA Instructor www.trevorhopwood.com and teammate and SCDA supporter Adam Burrows will be driving the Turner Motorsport BMW in the highly competitive Grand Am Cup ST Race. This is an event you will not have to miss. They will be doing battle with fellow SCDA Instructor www.ericcurran.com in his Chevrolet Cobalt. We wish these three drivers Luck this coming weekend at Lime Rock.

The SCDA will be making our second visit to New Hampshire International Speedway on Tuesday, May 29. As usual, we have a strong and diverse lineup of cars and drivers enrolled for this NHIS event. Also, the SCDA would like to congratulate SCDA Instructor and two time SCCA National Champion Elivan Goulart www.elivangoulart.com on securing a ride in the highly competitive SCCA Pro Racing SIRIUS Satellite Radio Mazda MX-5 Cup Series. Elivan will make his Professional Debut in his new MX-5 Pro Miata at the prestigious Cleveland Grand Prix in June 23 & 24, supporting the Champ Car Series. Elivan is extremely talented, and the SCDA wishes him luck in his exciting Professional debut.

Now we shift our attention to New Hampshire International Speedway, Tuesday May 29. We currently have space in all run groups, but this event is filling up fast! We hope to see you at NHIS on May 29 for our second event of the season.

Looking down the road a bit farther, our next trip to Lime Rock Park will take place on Tuesday, June 19th. This is an unmuffled event, and is geared for Experienced Drivers only. We have secured Lime Rock from 12:45-6, so you can still check in at the office and get a day of high performance driving in! To clarify who is eligible for this event, any driver that does NOT require an Instructor may enroll in this event. We have had five successful events this year , and are already looking forward to the sixth event of the season: NHIS May 29.

In addition to a busy 16 event season, the SCDA will be offering a brand new Spec Miata for rent at events in 2007. The Spec Miata (see photo below) is a safe, fast and fun track car, and we will be posting more information about this new exciting chapter in the near future.
